Terms of Service

Last updated:

1. About these terms

These Terms govern your use of the MariaList Android app and related services provided under the name Iacob&Maria Apps (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using MariaList, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Accepting these Terms does not, by itself, give consent to optional analytics, advertising, or other processing that requires separate consent.

2. What MariaList provides

MariaList helps you create and organize shopping lists, manage items, and shop with other people. Features include:

Available features and sharing limits are described in the app. Cloud features require an internet connection and may require an account. The free experience may include advertising.

3. Your account

Provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your sign-in credentials secure. Do not impersonate another person or use an account without permission. Contact us if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access.

You must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, obtain it before using the service or making a purchase.

4. Shared lists and your content

Sharing a list gives its participants access to its contents. Members can make changes according to their role. Those changes can affect what everyone sees, including item details and checked status.

Invitation links can be forwarded. Someone with an active link may be able to sign in and join, so send links only to people you intend to invite. Share only content you have the right to share and respect other people’s privacy.

Owners can manage sharing and remove members; members can leave a joined list. Access can end when the owner stops sharing or removes a member. Leaving a list does not automatically remove your previous contributions, and stopping sharing is not the same as erasing all cloud records.

You retain your rights in the content you enter. You give us limited permission to store, process, transmit, and display that content as needed to provide the features you choose, including showing shared content to participants and creating requested backups. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

5. Paid features and subscriptions

Before you buy, the app and Google Play show the price, billing period, included features, and any applicable offer conditions. Those purchase details form part of your agreement. RevenueCat helps verify purchases and manage access; Google Play handles Android billing.

Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless cancelled. Google Play charges the applicable renewal price according to the subscription you selected. Any price changes are subject to applicable law and Google Play’s notice and consent requirements.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play’s subscription settings, using the Google account that purchased it. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal, and access continues for the period already paid for. Uninstalling MariaList, signing out, or requesting account deletion does not by itself cancel the subscription.

After paid access ends, paid features are no longer available and free-plan limits apply. Contact support if you need help accessing your information.

Refunds, withdrawal rights, and remedies for defective or unavailable services depend on applicable law and Google Play’s refund policy. These Terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule or waive your statutory rights. Contact us or Google Play if you have a purchase problem.

6. Storage, synchronization, and backups

Shared-list synchronization and Google Drive backup are separate features. Synchronization can be delayed by connectivity, device settings, or service interruptions. Check that important changes or backups have completed before changing devices or removing local data.

Google Drive backup requires your authorization and sufficient storage in your Google account. You control those backup files through Google Drive. Revoking access does not automatically delete an existing backup.

Keep a separate copy of information you cannot afford to lose. This practical precaution does not limit our responsibilities or your legal rights. Data handling, retention, and deletion requests are explained in the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use and app ownership

You must not:

We and our licensors retain rights in the app’s software, design, and branding. We give you a limited, non-exclusive right to use MariaList in accordance with these Terms. This does not restrict your ownership of your lists or your right to copy and use your own content.

8. Third-party services

MariaList uses Google and Firebase services, Google Play, RevenueCat, and, where enabled, analytics and advertising services. Their relevant terms also apply when you use their services. The Privacy Policy explains the associated data processing.

These providers may experience interruptions or change their services. Their involvement does not remove our obligations to you under applicable law.

9. Service changes and ending access

We may update MariaList for reasons such as security, compatibility, legal requirements, or improving its features. Where a change materially affects your access or paid features, we will provide appropriate notice and any remedies required by law.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a serious breach of these Terms, security risks, unlawful activity, or a legal requirement. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. Immediate action may be necessary to protect users or the service.

You may stop using MariaList at any time. For account or personal-data deletion, contact support as described in the Privacy Policy. If we discontinue a paid service, we will provide notice where reasonably possible and honor any applicable refund or other statutory rights.

10. Service quality and your legal rights

We aim to keep MariaList dependable, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Shopping information is entered by you or other participants; check quantities, prices, and other details before relying on them.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes applicable liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your mandatory rights concerning digital services, refunds, and other remedies remain unaffected.

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not take away the mandatory protections available under the law of your country of residence or your right to bring a claim before a competent court.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or how the service operates. We will publish the revised Terms at /terms and update the date above.

For material changes, we will give reasonable advance notice where required and seek agreement when the law requires it. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you have already acquired. If you disagree with a change, you may stop using the service and cancel future subscription renewals, without losing any rights that apply by law.
